Classroom Tour and FREEBIES

I know what you are thinking, “What is this teal and white classroom? I thought you were staying home with your son and waiting on your adopted baby girl to come home!” You’re right.  I am still at home, BUT my new sister in law and brother both are starting their first year in a middle school.  Ya’ll, they are newlyweds and in the same school.  It’s pretty precious!

Teal and white classroom freebies that will help you get organized and be set for the year!

I had the JOY of  helping my sister in law set up and decorate her 6th Grade Science classroom.  Middle school is just so different from Kindergarten and First Grade, but what I whole heartedly believe is that they still need a warm, inviting classroom that makes them feel welcome, builds community, and is a happy place to learn!

Sarah chose a teal and white classroom color scheme, with a splash of gray. Here is her door.

We sectioned off a portion of her white board and made labels so that she could have all of her information in one place. We also made a Rules banner and soon we will make and add some posters with their expectations for their class.

This is one of my favorite parts of her teal and white classroom.  I found 3 sets of theses drawers by a dumpster in my town.  You better believe I turned right around and picked them up! With some spray paint and drawer labels, we brought them back to life! They are both adorable and super useful!!

To help with assigned seating and putting students in collaborative groups, we numbered the desks. Also, you can’t miss that adorable door decor by Tallahasee Sunday.

She had an extra big wall space that needed a little something. We decided on a tweetdeck so that she could hang anchor charts, student work, or shout out student success! I love the way this turned out!

This Tweetdeck in a teal and white classroom is perfect for students to display their learning or any questions they might have about topics! Also it is perfect for classroom shout outs!

Because she teaches only science, we thought scientific method posters were a MUST.  I got right to work making some posters that matched her teal and white decor.  We also made a banner to label them.
