It has been a few years since I have done a little “Meet the Teacher” here on the blog. I have gained a few followers since then so I thought it was about time!
I’m linking up with Falling Into First to share a little about myself today!
I married my college sweetheart!
Most of you probably already know that I am a new mommy to this cutie!
You have probably seen me write about mission trips. Oh how I’m passionate about missions!
And you probably know that our little girl is “stuck” in the Congo currently.
Here are a few more things you may not know about me!
Q& A Session
THESE ARE A FEW OF MY FAVORITE THINGS…
Target. Starbucks. Board Games. My Computer. My Planner. Cute Sandwhich Shops. Finding “Treasures” at Garage Sales. Reading Blogs. Fixer Upper.
IF YOU WEREN’T A TEACHER, WHAT WOULD YOU WANT TO BE?
A Pediatric Dentist.
THREE LITTLE WORDS THAT DESCRIBE YOU.
Sensitive. Empathetic. Competitive.
FINISH THE SENTENCE, “________, SAID NO TEACHER EVER!!”
“It is so easy to keep both my classroom and house clean!”
Q: IT’S YOUR BIRTHDAY AND YOU CAN INVITE ANYONE {DEAD OR ALIVE} TO THE PARTY. WHO ARE YOU INVITING?
Justin Timberlake. He is hilarious and amazingly talented!
Oprah. Only because she would probably show up with lots of gifts. Amen?
Q: IF SOMEONE WROTE A BOOK ABOUT YOUR LIFE, WHAT WOULD BE THE TITLE?
Treasures, Target, and Jesus.
Q:YOU GET TO PICK ONE SUPERPOWER. WHAT IS IT?
I’d love to be able to go invisible instantly. I’m not a big groups person and I always want to know allll the details. I could be a “fly on the wall” this way! Nosey Nellie?? Maybe! 😉
Q: WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE QUOTE OR SAYING?
“Be careful how you live. You may be the only Bible some person ever reads.” It gets me every time!
Q: IF YOU HAD TO SING ONE SONG ON AMERICAN IDOL, WHAT WOULD IT BE?
First of all, I can’t sing well at all. Only my kindergarten kids think I sing well enough to be the next American Idol!
But if I had to choose, I would sing “Fancy” by Reba. No question.
Q: ARE YOU A MORNING PERSON OR A NIGHT OWL?
Morning person by far!! I am much more productive in the morning than I am the evenings. I fade fast in the evenings and always have!
Q: WHAT’S YOUR FAVORITE RESOURCE THAT YOU’VE CREATED IN YOUR TPT SHOP?
I have new favorites all the time! Most recently my “Back to School #selfie”.
Q: SHARE SOMETHING WE MIGHT NOT KNOW ABOUT YOU! I am THE worst at song lyrics. Seriously. I make up words that sound like the real words. My husband always says, “Wait, wait, wait…what did you just say???” Then I spend the next 5 minutes trying to convince him that my lyrics are better than the real ones!

Hi, I'm Amanda
I’m a K-1 teacher who is passionate about making lessons your students love and that are easy to implement for teachers. Helping teachers like you navigate their way through their literacy block brings me great joy. I am a lifelong learner who loves staying on top of current literacy learning and practices. Here, you’ll find the tools you need to move your K-2 students forward!
I TOTALLY make up words to songs I don’t know too. I never realized it until I watched that show with Wayne Brady where people actually competed for money for knowing the lyrics! Ha. Your son looks just like you!! SO adorable!
Your baby girl is A D O R B S!!! You and your husband make a beautiful couple. I love the title of your book. I would LOVE to read that. 🙂 I think it’s awesome that you do mission trips. You always look so happy! Your smile makes me smile.
I am the same way with song lyrics. I go years thinking they are one way and am devastated when I found out I’ve been singing them wrong. That song rock the casbah (not even sure if that’s right) I sang it rock the cash bar forever. Jeeeeez!
